This is a house located on a cul-de-sac on the Atlantic Ocean. The challenge of such a house is that the sun passes over the house by 10 in the morning, and it is left to shadow the rest of the day…THIS was designed to be different! Using the round shape of the cul-de-sac as a springboard, the house plan rotes to the southern exposures to get more sunlight. We added the clerestory windows along the top so even later in the day, sunlight will continue to naturally light the house, in addition to pulling the plans apart enough to create many interstitial spaces (Spaces between building components, in this case) to allow the ocean breezes and light flow through the house all day long! This house is a contemporary Style.
